WHAT ABOUT IS YLAWC?

Project aim: 

TO ENHANCE THE CAPACITY OF YOUTH AND LOCAL COMMUNITIES TO MOBILIZE FOR THE CONSERVATION OF NATURAL ECOSYSTEMS AND ADVOCATE FOR IMPROVED WILDLIFE PROTECTION POLICIES

Project Objectives:

  • To raise the capacity of fellows from rural areas of Georgia to develop and implement results-oriented youth-led project contributing to wildlife conservation
  • To establish partnership and dialogue between young people, local communities, civil society environmental actors, local and national authorities for developing wildlife conservation policy
  • To provide international opportunities for exchange of expertise among youth workers and environmental youth activists

 

EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES

which will be developed by fellows and advisers

  • Youth-led wildlife conservation manual: manual on youth-led wildlife conservation measures specialized to the Georgian context
  • Educative Mobile Phone Application: an educative mobile phone application (App) downloadable free-of-charge proposes to discover bird species from Georgia (spread, rare, endemic, or endangered)
  • Environmental youth educational tool: a manual on environmental education for children and youth

WHAT ARE THE PROJECT ACTIVITIES?

 

  • Training Course “Youth for wildlife conservation” in Georgia
  • Job-Shadowing mobility in Turkey and Bulgaria
  • Training Course “Advocacy for wildlife conservation” in Georgia
  • Establishment of two local eco-hubs in Georgia
  • International Conference on Wildlife conservation in Georgia

 

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

 

  • Applicants must be aged 18 – 28;
  • Must be able to attend Training in Georgia, in Lagodekhi on Wildlife Conservation from 3rd of April to 11th of April
  • Must be a citizen of Bulgaria, Georgia or Turkey;
  • Youth people from Rural areas encouraged to participate
  • Must Demonstrate an interest in wildlife conservation issues and working with other young people towards the success of local, regional youth conservation organizations
  • Must be committed to working in their respective countries with youth leaders, local communities and attend the activities in next 2 years

 

project will cover all the   costs connected to project needs (International and local travel, accommodation, food expenses and  fees of the participation).

Jury will select and announce candidates by 10 of March, Candidates will be asked to have phone interviews, final results of participation will be announced by 13 of March.
